I had a unique experience with Joana from The Tiny Musician. She's not your average violin teacher; she came over to my place and helped me set up my loop station for music production. It was more of a technical lesson, which I really appreciated. She's versatile in her teaching, covering everything from classic jazz to modern music styles. Our session was bilingual, as we communicated in both English and Portuguese, which was great for me. Since our lesson last year, I've become such a fan that I've attended several of her concerts. Joana truly excels at self-management and goes above and beyond in her service—it's quite impressive!

I've been taking violin classes with Joana at The Tiny Musician, and I must say, they're incredibly tailored to what I want and need. She selects music that not only interests me but also matches my skill level. Joana handles different abilities with ease, and her feedback is always constructive. The learning environment is very comfortable; there's plenty of space for open discussion on any topic. Since starting lessons with her, I've made significant progress—I can now read and play music independently! Joana is an amazing teacher—super friendly and nice. Our classes strike the perfect balance between fun and serious learning in a relaxed atmosphere.

I hired Joana from The Tiny Musician for online violin lessons. I'm based in Lisbon and she's in Porto. We've had about 3 or 4 sessions so far, and they've all gone really well. We spend a good chunk of time tuning the violin, which is super helpful. Joana is always reachable on WhatsApp to give me a hand whenever I need it. Plus, she lets me know when she's in Lisbon so we can have face-to-face lessons too. I'm not a beginner; I played from ages 4 to 14 but took a break until now, starting again at 24. Joana is incredibly patient with both what I do and don't remember, and if needed, she explains things from scratch.

I've been taking private violin lessons with Joana from The Tiny Musician and I have to say, she's been a great tutor. As someone still hovering around grade 3/4, I found her approach to be refreshingly different from my previous more classical tutor. Joana has a knack for improv which has helped me branch out in my playing. She's incredibly supportive in helping me learn scales and the songs that I bring, plus she's got this collaborative spirit that lets us work on new pieces together. One thing I really appreciate is how she writes notes in my book during each lesson so I can easily review them later. Although my progress is slow—admittedly due to not practicing enough—Joana's encouragement never wavers. Communication with her is a breeze; she's always available and open-minded about whatever direction I want to take with my learning. All in all, working with her has been an encouraging and flexible experience for an aspiring violinist like myself.
