I've been taking surfing classes with Miguel Lourenco Mendes from Miguel Reis surf coach for about 6 years now, both private and group sessions. The group classes are a blast—Miguel makes them super accommodating and fun. He really focuses on each student, celebrating our successes like they're his own. It's amazing to see him so excited when we catch the perfect wave! All my beginner friends who've joined have made incredible progress under his guidance. Miguel's technique stands out even when surfing instructors are in high demand and often burnt out; he remains energetic and deeply invested in our learning. Plus, he knows exactly how to choose the right surfboard for you, just by asking the right questions. I also appreciate the great warm-ups he conducts to prevent injuries. Safety is a big deal for him; he always checks ocean conditions before a session and explains waves, currents with drawings in the sand which helps us visualize what we're about to face in the water. Honestly, if you want to learn how to surf or improve your skills, Miguel's your guy!

Severine from Mother Surfer really knows her stuff when it comes to family surf lessons. We were a bit nervous at first, but she was super patient and made sure we all felt comfortable before hitting the waves.
