I've been working with Daniela Lopes from OTS-LCCV LAW FIRM since I moved from the UK to Portugal back in December 2020, and my experience has been really positive. She's handled everything for me – from setting up an overseas company and sorting out my NIF, to getting a tax refund and dealing with Portugal revenue. Daniela also got me into the NHR program over three years ago and she's been doing my annual tax returns ever since. What stands out is how clear her tax advice is; she always makes time for calls, promptly answers any questions, and our meetings are productive. The entire process, from initial consultation to final resolution of issues, runs smoothly without any hiccups. Plus, she was upfront about the contract details and fee structure right off the bat. I also find her fees quite fair for the quality of service provided.

I recently used Josh in Lisbon to help with my relocation from the US, and I had a great experience. Josh was really helpful with the NIF process and finding an apartment to rent, which made settling in much easier. He was always easy to reach and quick to reply, so communication was never an issue. Moving to Portugal from Serbia seemed daunting, especially with the changing immigration laws and not knowing Portuguese. Thankfully, Prismaat S.A. was there to help. Nuno was a breath of fresh air; he's down-to-earth and not your typical lawyer - talking to him was easy, and he earned my trust quickly. I needed someone on the ground for local support and gave them power of attorney which made logistical tasks much simpler. They guided me in choosing the right visa program, offering various solutions right from the start. While they were generally punctual, I did notice that their speed wasn't quite on par with other European companies I've dealt with—less efficient than what I'm accustomed to. But overall, they made my first big move smooth and far less stressful than it could have been without their assistance.

When we first started working together, Daniela and her team provided a clear timeline for the full project, which helped me understand and control the process. They were thorough and responsive, offering clear costs, payment schedules, and a designated team for my case. Daniela’s knowledge of the UK tax system and her preventive, well-organized approach stood out, and the initial stages of the process followed the timeline we set. However, my experience with the NHR application process has left me disappointed. While the initial engagement in September was thorough, with detailed and satisfactory reports presented in early October, the communication began to falter later that month. Despite agreeing on a timeline to apply before the end of the year, the responsiveness I had come to appreciate diminished. When I sought updates, I was informed without much explanation that the team was too busy and directed to another contact to handle the matter. The lack of courtesy and clear communication during this critical stage has been frustrating. While Daniela’s expertise and the initial experience were excellent, this later misstep has significantly impacted my confidence in their follow-through. I hope these concerns can be addressed to ensure a more consistent and client-centered approach for future cases.
