Katherine has been my English tutor for the past two years, and it's been a great decision to work with her. I switched to her from another teacher because I wanted a fresh approach to learning. Her strategy is unique; we have conversations in English, and she corrects my pronunciation and grammar either during or after our talks, which really helps me understand my mistakes in context. The main goal is for me to become fluent, and Katherine tailors each one-on-one class to meet that objective. Thanks to her method, I feel more confident in my speaking abilities.

Katherine has been an excellent English teacher for me. She personalized our private lessons to fit my career as a personal trainer, focusing on the specific vocabulary I needed to give directions and instructions on movements in English. Our sessions involved talking about my daily life, which she used as a basis for corrections and improvements. We also incorporated songs and book readings into the learning process, making it more engaging. Creating lists of exercises was part of our routine, and her feedback on these was incredibly helpful in refining my language skills. Her tailored approach really made a difference in helping me communicate effectively with my foreign clients.

Working with Katherine as my TOEFL exam prep tutor has been a very positive experience. She's incredibly organized and provides a wealth of teaching materials that have been instrumental in my learning process. We've done live tests together, utilized video testing systems, and she's always given me varied assignments to work on. Katherine is not only nice but also very responsive and always punctual, which I appreciate. While she speaks slowly—which might be great for some—I personally would prefer if she picked up the pace a bit. Nevertheless, her supportive nature has made it easier to learn from my mistakes, thanks to her constructive feedback. After our TOEFL sessions were fruitful, I didn't hesitate to continue with her one-on-one classes for additional learning.

Why we created Locallista?
As expats, we understand how overwhelming it can be to settle into a new city, where even simple tasks become difficult without a network, complicated by language barriers and cultural differences. That’s why we created Locallista — a closed platform where expats connect with trusted service providers recommended by the community, ensuring clear communication in English or their native languages, making life easier.
